Regatta Successes!

The AYC Racers had a big day on Friday as they dominated both the North and South Shores! At the Hingham Regatta, Mac McHugh and Adam Piispanen finished in second place, while Grace Papp and Peter Thibodeau finished third, both competing in the 420 championship fleet. There were 60 boats in the field (20 championship) and this was a great accomplishment for these sailors and our program. Congratulations to these sailors and coach Will Felder for a job well done!

At the Greenhead Regatta in Ipswich Bay, our Opti team did fantastic! Congratulations to Jared Gilman, who place first, Luke Quine placed second, and Johnny Andrew who placed third. In addition to those top three finishers, we also had outstanding finishes from Ryan MacLaughlin, Matt Egan, Will McHugh, Andrew Treat, and Tim Stone.

In the 420 field at Greenheads, AYC led the way again with Ben MacShane/Peter Remsen taking home first place, followed by Sam Denney/Taeghan Hagood who finished in second. Congratulations is also well deserved by the teams of Ted Moskal/Emily Ryan and Josh Gabbay/JJ Legelis who had some excellent races throughout the regatta.

A special thanks to our coaches at Greenhead: Brady Stagg, Clara Campbell, Bridget Schelzi, Daisy Hanna, and Nick Hanna for their role in coaching and mentoring these young sailors at this regatta.
